Survey & Valuation Software
Blueteq designed and developed the Survey & Valuation Software (SVS) independently but with the agreement of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The design philosophy and development approach was to work closely with current surveyors such that SVS fully supports the process used by surveyors on a daily basis out in the field. The input from a highly reputable firm, with over 35 years in the residential surveying industry, ensures that both best practice and current approaches are incorporated.

SVS from Blueteq is a new product and concept for the surveying industry and our approach is to continually enhance and develop the software based on feedback from you, our users. In this way more functionality and flexibility can be incorporated to meet the ever changing needs and demands of users and provide more than current systems.

Key information on demand
Blueteq recognises that surveyors have to spend a considerable amount of time away from the office which can make staying on top of the current work load a difficult process. SVS is a web based application which means that you can use it at any time and from any location all you need is internet access from your laptop, telephone or mobile device. Therefore when you are out of the office you can have your office with you.

SVS even enables you to create the report as you go round the property to build up the text of the report via its easy to use, intuitive and fully customisable set of standard paragraphs.

The on demand approach means that you could be out of the office and still have access to all your surveys, enabling reviews and amendments to be made without waiting until you return to the office. The design philosophy of the system is to put the surveyor at the centre of the system and to be able to control and monitor their workload and processes, drive efficiencies and enhance client service levels.

Managing the workload
SVS stores all surveys centrally along and provides the facility to store additional information relevant to that survey, including pictures, correspondence and notes. The system provides a Daily Log function which shows the status of any assignment enables you to track their status from initial receipt of instruction through production of the report to the final report production and despatch to client. Optionally SVS can hold your fee structure such that quotations and invoices can be produced on demand.

The system is provided with a template of statuses, which can be customised to your process. The user can select an item, complete the task associated with that, e.g. reviewed by surveyor, and move the assignment on to the next stage, ensuring that a bottleneck is avoided and improving the flow of assignments through the system. The Daily log is effectively a digital dashboard allowing you to have an accessible “to do” list.

When taking on a new assignment the system can highlight whether you have surveyed the property previously, any issues that you or the client may need to be aware of with the property as well as any other correspondence, documentation and pictures of the property. In a similar way, the system will highlight if you have undertaken work for that client before. Both of these elements are designed to ensure that you can offer both a higher level of service to your client and have the right information to hand even before you go on site.

Designed to suit you

SVS is currently designed to produce both Level 1 and Level 2 survey reports, e.g. “Home Buyers” and “Building Surveys”. Blueteq is aware of how important the layout of these reports can be and as standard it currently supports the RICS HomeBuyer format, the Independent Surveyors Associations (ISA) HomeSurvey format. Alternatively, the flexible and customisable approach of SVS enables you to incorporate, or develop, your own format to suit your approach and requirements.

The Report Writer module of SVS holds a library of standard paragraphs and sub paragraphs for each section. These paragraphs can be customised by the user and/or additional paragraphs and subparagraphs created to suit your needs.

Based upon the paragraphs in SVS, either standard or customised, the system can produce site notes to support the practice of highlighting the paragraphs required and or adding any additional text and notes for use in the subsequent creation of the report.

The easy to use and intuitive interface of the report writer facilitates selecting the relevant paragraphs per section or sub section of the report and for each section, the user can simply enter a code or select the paragraph or sub paragraph required from a drop down list. This process has proven to significantly increase the speed of production of these reports by administrative staff but it is also designed to enable the report to be created as the survey is undertaken.

The system also supports the latest Condition Rating system in line and is used with the RICS report format and is optionally available in both the ISA and your own report formats. These are available for insertion at sub section levels at the time of entering the paragraphs or subsequently as part of the review or due consideration process.

SVS has a library of standard formatted letters which can be edited, printed and e-mailed from the system and will be stored against that survey. These letters are user definable and so can be fully customised to your requirements.

SVS has the facility to provide a portal to enable secure access for clients and interested parties, e.g. estate agents. Via their secure user id and password they can access the portal to retrieve and view their survey. Once the survey report has been completed it can be sent directly to your client via e-mail as PDF document, printed and posted or accessed via the portal. Additionally a summarised version of the survey report is also available in a number of formats and via the secure portal, for solicitors or estate agents.

Cost effective choice
SVS is provided on a simple subscription basis or annual fee and includes product support. Unlike others, there is NO expensive initial licence fee, NO high cost annual support and maintenance charges and NO additional costs per survey.

The SVS is available in two forms. SVS Standard comprises the core element of Blueteq SVS, namely the Report Writer function, whereas SVS Enhanced provides the complete suite of management tools, libraries of standard letters, quotation and invoicing functions and client and property history to provide a complete solution to your surveying needs.
